Compote  is a taste of childhood, a drink that at one time was the key final dish of every meal. Often said this way: "The first, second, third and compote!" Because compote is a whole story, the most delicious drink, the kind of which you can pick up for all occasions.

Compote- is a traditional drinl for the peoples of Eastern Europe and Russia served for dessert and combines decoctions and syrups from various fruit and berry crops. The word itself came to us from the French lexicon. However before that broth fruit  was called simply a jell or a knot. It was considered a festive drink and was often served at the Christmas table, and moreover it was known in Russia since the 18th century. In its homeland, in France, it appeared much earlier in the form of fruit purees, which is still can be purchased in the narrow streets of the most romantic country.

 

.Moving to Russian tables, compote was immediately loved by ordinary people and became one of the key dishes during the meal. The next advantage of this drink was that it could be cooked with or without sugar, while preserving the maximum useful qualities of the product used, its taste and aroma. At the same time for the preparation of compote you could use not only fruits and berries, but even vegetables, and to increase its nutritional value, some cereals.
